About

Jesse Ritter

B.S. Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences

Jesse has over 10 years of practical experience in conservation sciences and natural resource management. His early years were spent traveling as a wildlife biologist collecting data in the field.

Highlights include:

  • Crocodilian and invasive reptile technician (e.g. Burmese Pythons and Tegus) in Everglades, FL.

  • Salmon and Steelhead surveys in the greater Willamette Valley, OR

  • Aquatic monitoring of forest watersheds in the Oregon coast range

  • Predator-prey research in the Upper Peninsula, MI. Species included White-Tailed Deer, Black Bears, and Wolves

  • Arboreal surveys of Red Tree Voles, an elusive rodent that lives exclusively in tree canopies of the PNW

Through his work with Red Tree Voles, Jesse became a skilled tree climber and led to him focusing his work in ecologically sound arboriculture and tree care. He was taught to climb and mentored by multiple ISA-certified arborists and is presently studying to become ISA-certified himself. In recent years Jesse has been a climber for multiple arborist and forestry companies as well as providing specialized support for the Ashland Wildfire Mitigation Project as a contractor.

Additional work includes crew lead for a firefighting company based out of Medford, OR and providing his own consulting services. For land owners in Jackson and Josephine counties interested in stewarding their lands through effective management planning and a variety of client-focused site assessments, WWNR is here to help you.

Jesse’s recent work and inspiration for founding WWNR has been committed to sustainable forestry practices, local- and landscape-scale wildfire mitigation, low impact restoration techniques, and ecologically sound arboriculture services.
